I've been putting the new Campark TC32 PTZ 4G trail camera through its paces, and I'm impressed. It doubles as a security camera, and its 4G capability eliminates the need for Wi-Fi or external power, making placement incredibly flexible. Unlike Wi-Fi cameras limited to around 100ft, this one goes anywhere with cell service. My history with Campark cameras spans about seven years, and the TC32 is a welcome addition to their pan-tilt-zoom lineup. I've also been using the TC17 4G Trail camera and TC18 models for over three years with consistent success. In fact, my TC18 has braved multiple Florida hurricanes over two years in my backyard and continues to function flawlessly.

Hurricane-Proof Reliability

The beauty of a 4G camera in hurricane-prone Florida is remote access during power outages. The TC32, like the TC17 and TC18, relies on solar power and an internal battery, eliminating the need for commercial power or Wi-Fi. This has allowed me to monitor my home during hurricanes, even with extended power outages lasting up to a week. The peace of mind this provides is invaluable.

Design and Setup

The TC32's new camo design is a definite improvement. Lighter, smaller, and more stealthy than the TC18, it blends seamlessly into its surroundings. The setup is remarkably simple. The pre-installed EIOTCLUB SIM card, which I've found consistently reliable over the past three years, simplifies the process. While a strong cell signal is crucial, the EIOTCLUB SIM card enhances the chances of maintaining a stable connection. You start with 300MB of free data for initial setup and testing, after which you can select from various data plans via the app or the EIOTCLUB website.

Power and Storage

The included 32GB micro SD card stores recorded data, eliminating the need for cloud storage and its associated data consumption. You receive alerts and can view live footage of important events, with the option to retrieve all recorded photos and videos from the SD card later. The included solar panel and USBC cable eliminate the need for batteries or external wiring. I have a similar solar panel powering a three-year-old Campark camera in the mountains, and it's still going strong. Just ensure the solar panel receives ample sunlight. Upon receiving the camera, fully charge it using a USBC charger for approximately 8-10 hours, or until the green light turns off.

Mounting and Functionality

Mounting the TC32 is straightforward using the included mount. You can screw it to a wall, tree, or other surface, or use the included strap to secure it to a tree. Remember to mount it upside down for proper water drainage. Adjust the antennas for optimal signal reception. The upgraded lighting system (six lights) offers versatile options: daytime color, nighttime IR, or full-color nighttime recording. Battery life depends on the frequency of triggers and nighttime light usage. Continuous live video streaming is also available. This live view feature sets it apart from traditional 4G cameras, allowing you to monitor your property anytime. The pan-tilt-zoom function provides impressive coverage, with almost 360° pan and 90° tilt. The trigger speed is remarkably fast, and the alert system is reliable (and can be disabled if desired). Picture and video quality are excellent, with a manageable file size of around 2-3MB for a half-minute video. While footage may appear slightly grainy on larger screens, this is a reasonable trade-off for maintaining good quality while minimizing data usage.

Audio Features and Overall Impressio

The TC32 features a built-in speaker and microphone port, enabling two-way communication (like an intercom) or audible alerts. Multiple alert options are available, including direct notifications to your phone and audible alarms. Sound quality is quite good. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with the TC32's build quality, performance, and the seamless integration with the pre-loaded EIOTCLUB SIM card.

Yukon App Setup and Usage

Setting up the TC32 is a breeze. Scan the QR code in the instruction manual to download and install the Yukon app on your smartphone. Power on the camera; it will cycle through various colors before settling on a steady blue light, indicating a good network signal. In the Yukon app, select "Add Device," scan the camera's QR code, and follow the on-screen prompts. Name your camera, and it should be online and operational within a few minutes. The Yukon app also controls other Campark pan-tilt-zoom cameras. I currently use it for my TC17 in the North Carolina mountains and my TC18 in my backyard. Adding the TC32 was seamless.

App Features and Controls

The app's status screen displays the 4G signal strength and battery level. I typically operate the camera in high-definition mode. You can toggle the white lights, control the pan-tilt-zoom functionality, activate the speaker, and capture live photos or videos. Interacting with the app consumes data, especially when recording in high definition. However, you can record critical events in high definition directly to your phone while simultaneously storing everything on the camera's SD card. The app allows you to switch between cloud storage and SD card storage. The camera's settings are controlled entirely through the app. You can flip or rotate the image, manage storage (I prefer SD card only), format the SD card, adjust activity detection sensitivity (low, medium, or high), set a schedule, enable or disable the device alarm, set the recording duration (I usually set it to 30 seconds), and restart the device if necessary. The pan-tilt-zoom controls are highly responsive, with minimal lag. The app is intuitive and can manage multiple cameras simultaneously.
